How to Use
  • Expand the Strainer

Gently press the folded silicone funnel outward until the PocketStrainer is fully expanded and stable.

    01
  • Collect Your Sample

Pass urine through PocketStrainer as you go: hold it in your stream above the toilet (sitting is recommended for control), or pass urine through it into a urinal. Alternatively, urinate into a container such as a toilet-seat 'hat' and pour it through the strainer afterward. PocketStrainer also fits directly into the opening of a 24-hour specimen container.

    02
  • Filter Urine

Strain your urine through PocketStrainer. The 316 stainless steel mesh captures kidney stones and fragments while urine flows through freely.

    03
  • Inspect the Mesh

After straining, check the mesh for any collected stones or stone fragments.

    04
  • Transfer Specimen

Transfer any stones or fragments to a specimen cup to provide to your healthcare provider for analysis and treatment guidance.

PocketStrainer drops directly into the opening of most standard 24-hour specimen collection jugs, so you can strain hands-free over a full collection period.
